Biology of the Natashans

Despite the size and grandeur of the Natashan Nation, the Natashans themselves were a short people. The tallest of Natashans only grew to be 1 meter 10 centimetres tall, whilst Natashan children may only have been as tall as 60 centimetres. They were furry creatures; the closest resemblance that can be drawn between them and animal species of Earth is the koala bear.

However, Natashans had fully formed three finger hands and lacked the fluffy ears of a koala bear. Instead, Natashans had the long, floppy ears that one might find on a spaniel. They also did not have a tail. Without examining their genitalia, it was very hard to distinguish between male and female Natashans in terms of body structure.

Their clothing and attitudes may differ, but physically there was little difference. Natashans had latent empathic and telepathic skills, which develop in puberty. These talents were not strong, but they are noticeable and used as a part of Natashan religion.

What the Major Powers of the Known Galaxy Know of Natashan Biology

What did a Natashan really look like? This is a question that anthropologists have grappled with for many years. As ships have only ever travelled a small distance in to the Natashan Nation, and less than 3% of the suspected space of the Natashan Nation has ever been charted, there are no remains for scientists to study.

However, analysis of remains found on one charted Natashan planet revealed one painting of a Natashan (the 2213 Rosebourg discovery of Natashan ruins.) It showed a short, robed figure, no more than one meter tall whose face was totally disguised by the cloak's hood. It carried a staff with it, one that from the picture appeared to be well crafted.

It is both unknown if all Natashans shared that attire and it is also unknown if the cane is unique to the Natashan in the picture or a common piece of attire. And even more fundamentally, it is unknown as to whether the picture is actually a Natashan or not, though the evidence would seem to suggest that it was.

The question of what a Natashan looks like rages in the scientific community, but it may be left up to the writers and artists to use their imagination before a proper exploratory expedition is mounted by the major governments, something that has been placed on the back-burner whilst war continues.

In essence, no one has any idea what is beneath the cloak.
