Actalena Class Battleship

Produced over the mid 2430s onwards through to the 2450s, the Actalena Class Light Battleship was developed in response to the rising costs of the maintenance of the large ship of the line maintained by the Rosebourg Monarchy.
The costs of maintenance, which had been named as one of the biggest source of drainage on the Rosebourg treasury, forced the Rosebourg Monarchy to consider new vessels that were both cheap to construct, and cheap to maintain.
The result was a lightly armoured, heavily powered warship whose number of guns on the hull seems to be the predominant identifying factor of this vessel.
Fast in comparison to the Mary-Rosebourg class battleship, the Actalena Class Light Battleship could easily fall into the Heavy Cruiser category.
Her hull is neither characteristic of a light battleship, yet the number of guns is unusual and greatly outguns most heavy cruisers. The Actalena Class Light Battleship benefits mostly of old and tested designs that keep the number of refits and upgrades down to the pleasure of the Rosebourg fleet's expenses.

Description of System:
The Anti-Fightercraft Gunnery Systems is a basic system that has significantly improved the Actalena's light battleship resistance to fast moving targets that weren't being detected by the ship's out-dated targeting sensors.The Rosebourg Monarchy calculated that a basic anti-fightercraft gunnery systems as an add-on to the class would be cheaper than upgrading the entire weapons-targeting array.
The Anti-Fightercraft Gunnery Systems is an automated system that was specially designed for carpet firing of an area where a fighter-craft is expected to enter.
The wide-dispersal of laser guns, expected to normally be a drain on the laser gun systems, has been ensured using a minimal amount of power, though the AFGUNS-A system has been known to overheat and overload causing cascading systems failures.

Internal Room Layout
The Actalena Battle Bridge was designed with the least amount of artistic freedom as possible. With the constraints placed upon the creation of the Actalena class warships, the battle bridge design was aimed to be both functional, as well as simple.
The Actalena Battle Bridge is a rectangular room, with the consoles all facing a central display that can be used to show anything from what is going on outside, to sensor readouts, etc.
Navigations and Tactical officers are closest to this central display, with side consoles displaying engineering information for their knowledge.
Next is a single chair earmarked for the Commanding Officer, the executive officer and the second officer is expected to stand, while behind the command staff, are consoles for Operations, Medical, Intelligence, and Damage Control that at the time of construction of the Actalena were still unusual visitors to the battle bridge.
The design is quite an old Rosebourg design, that the Actalenas were the last to use. Their predominant white/gray internal look have made them identifying to a time when the Rosebourg Monarchy's vessels were quite different.
Internal Room Layout
The Actalena Light Battleship was also an inheritor of a main medical bay design that was simple and functional.
The Actalena Light battleship's sick bay is designed as a multi-room center, overpowered by a central consultations room where triage is accomplished.
There is a long hallway that cuts through this multi-room center, giving access to doctor's offices as well as a pharmacy and private recovery quarters.
The main medical bay is most interesting to historians as the colours that are predominant in this medical bay are white and blue. The Rosebourg Monarchy has since departed from this design, but during the time the Actalena was constructed, medical bays used some of the flashiest colour schemes.
Internal Room Layout
The Actalena class starships are direct descendants of the standard Rosebourgian attitude towards the construction of engineering sections.
Engineering is spread over 4 decks, due to the largeness of the vortex drive, as well as to the lack of real central design to the Engineering modules.
Serving as a partial means of coordination amongst all the engineering sub-departments, Central Engineering was created as a central meeting point.
An oval room, Central Engineering is dominated by Power Generator 1, a large boiler-looking power station that takes care of most of the power needs of the Actalena Class starships' thrusters.
Consoles, that control the coordination, and allocation of engineering resources follow the shape of the circular room, with a door on both sides leading to elevators.
There are two other doors, which lead to access ports where maintenance can be performed on the entire ship.
Internal Room Layout
The Actalena's support craft bays were new designs when they appeared for the Actalena Class light battleship. The design was modified for the Mary-Rosebourg class later because of its functionality.
The support craft bays are single-story buildings, which are able to house independently 8 large support crafts. Although they take a lot of space, the support craft bays were placed aboard the Actalena class starships in order to allow them further capabilities to adapt to potential mission parameters handed out by the Rosebourg Monarchy.
The support craft bays are fairly basic designs; support crafts are housed on the North and South sides of each of the support craft bays.
There is a central East to West exit port that propels the support crafts at their maximum rated speeds before they exit the vessel (giving them the speed they need to take off and dodge the enemy should they be doing a mission under fire).
There is a special area where support craft deck officers can go the moment the support craft bay becomes an airtight compartment.
